Comprised of CFA Societies, FPA Chapters and industry groups, Collaborative WIM includes ~80 supporting organizations across the US, Canada, Caribbean, EMEA and Latin America to demonstrate the commitment of the global finance community to inclusion and diversity. Launched in 2020 as a global grassroots campaign, Collaborative WIM works to create demand for diversity, to empower female and diverse professionals across all facets of the finance industry, and to establish a geography-agnostic community to share resources, information and best practices to promote a shared vision of a better, more inclusive world.

eVestment has been at the forefront of diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the investment business for many years. The company has collected asset management firm ownership diversity data for more than 20 years and in 2020 expanded its D&I questionnaire.

The new questionnaire offers asset managers options to highlight both qualitative and quantitative aspects of their D&I efforts. This includes statistical breakdowns by gender, race, disability status and veteran status of key professionals and information on efforts like hiring practices and mentor programs that promote diversity, equity and inclusion in their organizations. “Aligning with this new, high-powered group of women to promote female empowerment and leadership in the investment business aligns perfectly with eVestment’s overall efforts in this arena,” said eVestment Chief Marketing Officer Michele Shauf. “Understanding where we are with diversity in our business and how those statistics change over time is the only way to understand fully the work that needs to be done.”

“We are delighted to partner with eVestment to further inclusion and diversity in the finance industry,” said Sarah Yao Schutzman, CFA, Managing Partner of Providence Heights Capital Management and Chair of the Collaborative WIM initiative. “eVestment will be a key player in helping to promote our shared vision through eVestment’s own network, web site and social media channels and helping us understand how we’re doing with this effort over time.”

eVestment will sponsor WIM’s virtual social networking events in the third and fourth quarters, as well as the “On the Same Page” WIM quarterly book club.
