Goals
Build relationships and increase awareness of CWIM’s mission, creating opportunities for individuals and local networks to collaborate on a larger scale and achieve greater, together.
Global Ambassador Responsibilities
The Global Ambassador role focuses on representing and promoting CWIM Global Alliance while also growing your personal leadership abilities. CWIM Ambassadors are people with finance and investment background who support the Alliance’s ambition to accelerate diversity and inclusion in our sector. They advocate inclusion and offer their time and expertise to support CWIM’s activities. Please read about the role of an ambassador:
CWIM Representative
Actively promotes the CWIM brand through various communication tools, i.e., personal social media, current employer forums, speaking at events, etc.
Actively recruits and serves as a resource for finance professionals and firms in your area interested in joining CWIM or participating in a CWIM activity
Promotes CWIM’s Annual Summit and, when applicable, regional/local CWIM conferences and workshops
Shares ideas/introductions with CWIM Leadership Team
Encourage colleagues to expand their knowledge, attend educational programs on DEI and become a CWIM Ambassador
Considers the importance of being a mentor to early career finance professionals and students
Commits to non-discrimination, anti-racism, inclusion, cultural sensitivity and humility with the goal of advancing equity for racial; and ethnic minorities, individuals living with disability, and sexual and gender minority people regardless of background
Personal Leadership Development
Connect with other like-minded ambassadors and expand your professional network by participating in CWIM Global Ambassador conference calls, training webinars, and virtual/in-person meetings, when applicable
Explore leadership opportunities with CWIM as it expands its network, programs, and offerings through collaboration with employers, other non-profits and conference providers around the globe
Priority access to perks/opportunities offered by ally firms and organizations
Outcomes
As a result of the CWIM Ambassador program, we have experienced greater inclusion within our culture, and a better understanding of the importance of DE&I to the industry. We have greater engagement from all levels of finance professionals and students, which helps to promote the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion. Finally, we have realized a significant increase in participation in all of our DE&I programs among our global membership base.
